Art

Matter Gallery is Canada’s first art gallery dedicated to showcasing 2SQTBIPOC artists and makers. The gallery offers a platform for 2SQTBIPOC artists to exhibit their artwork, participate in group and solo exhibitions, residencies, artist talks, and art workshops, nurturing their personal and professional growth.

Books

Founded by Renu Shonek (they/them) and Carla Taylor (she/they), the 2SQTBIPOC Library at Matter houses a unique collection highlighting 2SQTBIPOC authors and publishers—the first of its kind in Canada. The library hosts book clubs and author talks that explore literature by and about 2SQTBIPOC individuals.
